Lower Valley Operational Report: April 2023

We’re proud to continue to produce ongoing operations reports for the public, public safety partners, and our served municipalities.

Operations Breakdown

During the month of April, 2023, Lower Valley serviced:

  • 434 total calls for service, of which:
  • 293 were emergency (911) calls for service

The call breakdown, by municipality, is as follows:

Lower Valley was assisted by mutual aid partners on 33 calls, or 11% of our total emergency volume, in April. This represents a 1% decline in mutual aid utilization from March, meaning our ambulances were available for a call in our communities 89% of the time someone called.

We also serviced municipalities served by other EMS providers when responding as their mutual aid:

  • Arnold (Westmoreland County) – 1 call
  • Fox Chapel Borough – 1 call
  • Frazer Township – 4 calls
  • O’Hara Township – 4 calls
  • Oakmont Borough – 4 calls
  • New Kensington (Westmoreland County) – 1 call
  • Lower Burrell (Westmoreland County) – 3 calls
  • Penn Hills – 1 call
  • Plum Borough – 2 calls
  • Tarentum Borough – 2 calls
  • West Deer Township – 1 call

We’re hiring paramedics!

Lower Valley is hiring paramedics on a new payscale ranging from $20.25 to $24.25/hr based on total EMS experience.
